A Few Ponderings On Death...

Would you kill a total stranger for 15 million dollars?
One of my friends answered 'yes' to this. What do you think?

Likewise, would you die for someone you did know if it meant saving their life?

A. Don't even have to think about it, no way!
B. Sadly I probably would have to think about it a lot depending on who it is. Family, and my closest friends I would in a heartbeat but for anyone else I'm not exactly sure. I really want to believe that I would though...

A. no, never, not even for a billion dollars.

B. On an intellectual level I am willing to give my life for anyone, but I know that as soon as the time comes it would be very hard to do.

As a Catholic I understand that we are called to Love everyone, and Love is nothing without sacrifice, true love is shown through this very act were talking about.

Exactly, which is why I asked, because the friend who answered in the opposite way is supposedly very ardently Catholic, in fact, she is studying to be a youth minister. It I'm absolutely appalled to hear that there are people who would allow treasures of this world to compensate for the loss of the next, which would likely follow such a murder. True love is so precious and incredibly beautiful, and thinking about it, I know that there are many who I'd honestly step in front of a bullet for. I thank God that I've never had to though, it would certainly be sancitfying, but terrifying as well!
